52 Project: Black and White

This week’s project – black and white – brought back memories of the many hours and hours spent in the black and white darkroom at school.  Good times. 🙂  The photo, this week, is a simple contrast between my dad’s black shoes and my dog’s white paws.

Next up, check out Maryland Pet Photographer, KRS Images to see more photos of the “black and white” theme in the Project 52 blog circle.

52 Project: Our Town

The city of San Dimas is located about 20 miles east of Los Angeles along the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.  It has a western small town feel and the community is pet-friendly with many businesses catering to dogs and horses.  It seemed like the perfect backdrop to this week’s “our town” theme.  Meekah, who is my sister’s German Shorthaired Pointer/Jack Russell Terrier mix, accompanied me early Saturday morning for a walk around the old town area.  We got there pretty early in the morning, which allowed Meekah ample time for some window shopping and exploration.

One of my favorite things about this town is its maintenance of the old Pacific Railroad tracks.   They even have an old train depot that has been converted into a train museum.

All in all, San Dimas is a fun city to visit.  Next up, go check out Sharon Stokes – Central Coast Pet Photographer to see more photos of the “our town” theme in the Project 52 blog circle.

52 Project: Seasonal Fun

This week I joined an awesome group of professional pet photographers in a 52 week project assignment.  The project, which is selective to Beautiful Beasties pet photographer network members, consists of each photographer interpreting a weekly theme and then posting about it on their blog.  We link to each others blog with each post thereby forming a blog circle.  I am really looking forward to a wonderful year of photos and challenges as well.

This week’s theme was seasonal fun.  Since it is the beginning of a new year, my immediate thought was to intertwine our theme with my new year’s resolution….to spend more time exercising outdoors rather than at the gym.  So, I grabbed my backpack and headed out on a hike with my chocolate lab, Xavi.  This is a photo of him looking at me from the other side of the hiking trail.

You can tell he is having a great time and no where near ready to turn back and go home.   I had a lot of fun this week and can’t wait to post again.  Don’t forget to check out photos from other photographers in the 52 week project blog circle.  You’ll really enjoy the Canadian Dog Photographer Posh Pets Photography blog for more seasonal fun photos.
