52 Project: Antique/Vintage

Each week, members of the Beautiful Beasties network for international pet photographers choose a theme to post on their blog.  This week’s 52 project theme was Antique/Vintage.  Photos should display an antique or vintage look using props, backdrops or texture.

Our first photo is of the famous Colorado Bridge in Pasadena.  The bridge looks very romantic from a distance, but its checkered past has given it the nickname of ‘suicide bridge’.   People have been jumping off the bridge since the Great Depression and continue to do so through present day.  Rumor has it that ghosts haunt the bridge and the river bed below on dark nights.

Second is a visit to Eleanor Joy Toll Hall at Scripps College in Claremont.  One of the first residence halls and home to one of the most haunted places on campus.  Students have heard loud noises and rattling sounds in empty rooms and claim the spirit of Eleanor Joy Toll roams the hall.

Next up in the blog circle is Kathryn Schauer of Madison CT Dog Photographer.  Have fun viewing her photos on this week’s theme.

Tracy Sutherland - The framing is gorgeous on the second shot! I really like the splotchy washed out effect you did – it makes these look very old.

Barbara - These are wonderful – both the captures and the post processing. Knowing the history of these spots makes them even more magical!
