{"id":507,"date":"2013-08-16T01:00:44","date_gmt":"2013-08-16T08:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spottynose.com\/blog\/?p=507"},"modified":"2013-08-15T21:55:04","modified_gmt":"2013-08-16T04:55:04","slug":"52-project-the-rule-of-thirds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/spottynose.com\/blog\/2013\/08\/52-project-the-rule-of-thirds\/","title":{"rendered":"52 Project: The Rule of Thirds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The &#8220;Rule of Thirds&#8221; is taught to\u00a0all photographers in their beginning composition\u00a0classes.\u00a0\u00a0 In its simplicity, imagine dividing a photograph into 9 equal parts\u00a0 &#8211; three rows of three equal columns\u00a0&#8211; <em>think, tic tac toe grid<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Align your subject along any one of the points where the lines intersect.\u00a0\u00a0The subject is now positioned 1\/3rd of the way in the photograph and not smack in the middle.\u00a0 To the viewer, the image appears\u00a0 more pleasing and natural to the eye.<\/p>\n<p>In my examples, you&#8217;ll notice Reyse positioned to the left of the lake and then placed to the right of the photograph looking out towards the sand. (P.S.
